Lionfish, a species of fish native to the Indo-Pacific, are encroaching on the North Atlantic Ocean. They are harming native ecosystems and local fishing economies.

What is the best way to neutralize the lionfish species in the North Atlantic?

Our goal is to protect biodiversity in the Atlantic Ocean by mitigating the threat that lionfish create.

- About Us - 

Team NEMO^2 is an undergraduate interdisciplinary research team at the University of Maryland in the Gemstone Honors Program that is focused on researching the naturalization and elimination of the invasive lionfish in the North Atlantic Ocean. Our team brings together students from various disciplines, including engineering, computer science, environmental science, to tackle this complex issue and find innovative solutions.
